Dear friends, today through China Media Group, China News Service and tibet.cn, I would like to wish all fellow Tibetans from home and abroad all the best in the New Year of the Tiger! Losar Tashi Delek!
Over the past year, we have jointly celebrated the centenary of the Communist Party of China and the 70th anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet. Looking back at the challenges of the past really makes us appreciate our current peace and prosperity.
Over the past year, I have spent more than three months exploring and researching in Tibet, as well as prefectures and counties with large Tibetan populations in the provinces of Sichuan and Gansu. I have observed great changes in both urban and rural areas. The local people are living moderately prosperous lives in all respects along with the rest of the country. I saw clear waters, green mountains, national unity, and religious harmony. The people are invigorated and confident. This is a blessing that we can share together under the leadership of the Communist Party of China in the big family of the Chinese nation. We should feel grateful and cherish it.
The past year was a year of special significance for me. I obtained the highest Kachin Buddhist academic degree from Tashi Lhunpo Monastery. I started my formal study of Buddhist scriptures after the enthronement ceremony in 1995. During my 26 years of learning and practicing under the guidance of my respected teachers, with care and support from eminent senior monks, I have devoted myself to the study of the Five Major Divisions and various scriptures of Buddhism. Here, I'd like to thank all the people who love and support Tibetan Buddhism. In the future, I intend to devote myself to the cause of serving both the country and Buddhism. I hope to protect the country and support its people, while making new contributions to the development of Tibetan Buddhism in the Chinese context.
Realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is the common aspiration of all Chinese people ,including the believers of Tibetan Buddhism. The Chinese nation is a big family connected by blood, with traditional virtues, hard work and mutual support in pursuing the country's development. Only through unity and collective efforts can we share the benefits of our country’s prosperity.
Every human being may have a hard time in life. Buddhism, however, can help bring happiness to us all. Let’s enter the New Year with great joy, and live to benefit families, respect our elders, serve our country and society, and benefit all sentient beings. Let’s pray for national prosperity, world peace and the well-being of all living beings in the New Year! May mankind overcome the pandemic soon! Tashi delek!
